THE COMPANY
It's always exciting to raise a new home
We can help you design and build the home of your dreams - whether it be a custom designed new home or remodeling an existing one.
We specialize in building energy efficient Timber Frame (also known as post and beam) homes. The timbers are connected by mortise and tenon joints and fastened together by wooden pegs, and the frame work is exposed. Oak knee braces are used at key connections for strength. This type of construction has been used for hundreds of years and many fine examples remain as part of the landscape and history of New England. The beauty of timber frame homes are their enduring strengh, the polished oak timbers, the joinery and the adaptability to all types of home design, Colonial, Federal, Country French, or Modern. Reflecting your unique imprint, the homes we build become one of a kind, in the best tradition of New England craftsmanship. We build every home with the premise that they will endure for centuries to come.

Our company was established in 1974 by Philip R. Pond Jr., builder in Chatham, Massachusetts, on Cape Cod's elbow. We have since become one of Cape Cod's leading builders of oak timber framed homes and are the Cape Cod representives for the Hardwick Frame Company, one of the country's oldest timber frame companies. In the over twenty eight years that the Hardwick Frame Company has been in business, they have developed many innovative ideas. They use a wall panel system with precut window and door openings, electrical wiring and boxes installed, and a super insulated form core, covered with 1/2" plywood sheathing and blueboard. The panel system coupled with the precut oak frame saves time and money on the job site, many homes are framed and paneled in less then a week's time.Click here to learn more about the Hardwick Frame Company
